Dr. Isah A. Lawal is currently an Associate Professor and Program Leader of Applied Data Science at Noroff School of Technology and Digital Media Kristiansand, Norway. Previously, He worked as Assistant Professor at Jouf University Saudi Arabia, where he taught Artificial Intelligence and Smart System courses. He worked also as Research Assistant at Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Lawal received Bachelor in Electrical Electronic Engineering and Master in Computer Engineering degrees from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University(ATBU), Bauchi, Nigeria, and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Following this, He secured a 3-year fellowship for a joint PhD in Interactive and Cognitive Environments in 2011, under the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship, from Queen Mary University of London (UK) and University of Genoa (Italy), which He completed in 2015. His PhD thesis involved the development of machine learning methods for video analytic with application in public scene analysis. He is a member of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) . .
