Biography

I am an Associate Professor in Data Science at the Department of Applied Data Science, Noroff University College, Kristiansand (Norway) since September 2018. I am part of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and have been serving as the Program Leader for the Applied Data Science bachelor degree program since 2019. My responsibilities include managing and coordinating the learning activities of over one hundred students and several teaching staff.

Apart from my teaching role, I am also a senior data science research consultant with expertise in statistical data analysis, machine learning applications in business analytics, and the design of decision support systems. From 2019 to 2024, I worked as a research consultant on a European Economic Area-funded project (Project Number: GG-PDP1-001) for the Department for Strategic Development and Coordination of Public Administration, Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. In this role, I provided technical guidance for adapting big data analytic processes and best practices to analyze mobile positioning data.

Before joining Noroff University College, I worked as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Jouf University (Saudi Arabia), where I contributed to the development of teaching and research activities. Prior to that, I worked as a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Computing, Federal University Dutse (Nigeria), where I also contributed to the teaching and research activities.

I hold a B.Eng in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi (Nigeria). In 2007, I was awarded a Research Assistant Fellowship for the M.Sc in Computer Engineering by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran (Saudi Arabia). In 2015, I received a joint PhD from Queen Mary University of London (UK) and University of Genoa (Italy), funded by an Erasmus Mundus Fellowship.

I am a member of professional bodies including the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the IEEE-Computer Society .
